Communicate digitally with all suppliers and customers


Although the standardization and availability of digital business communications (EDI) solutions has increased, many still consider it too expensive and cumbersome to even get started with it. This means that companies that have invested in digital business communication do not reach all their trading partners and thus do not get the maximum return on their investment. An all-too-common scenario is that one gets stuck in an administrative cycle where a lot of time still needs to be spent on different means to distribute information, at the same time as there is uncertainty as to whether the number of potential errors is at an acceptable level. If the suppliers do not have their own EDI solutions, it is not possible to establish a standardized EDI set, which would have been a significant advantage for both trading partners.


To reach trading partners who have not introduced digital business communication, Viaduct offers standardized web-EDI solutions to communicate through. We call the solutions Supplier Portal or Customer Portal depending on the type of trading parties you wish to communicate with. The solutions are based on a flexible and structured principle that is adapted to the technical possibilities each trading partner has for conveying digital business messages. I.e., if the supplier or customer already has an established EDI solution, this can be used in the first place. But lacking the ability to communicate with a standardized direct EDI connection, an easy-to-use web-based EDI is offered instead, which is handled in a web-interface. In this way, you catch the less technically prepared suppliers and customers and give them the opportunity to provide you with digital business communication in the way you want it.


In the web-EDI solutions, each supplier can view and approve orders or delivery schedules and then send back the remaining message flows according to set requirements, for example: order response, delivery notification, invoice. Thanks to the suppliers using the supplier portal, you as a customer do not have to work in another system. Standardized formats and communication methods for business messages mean that all information automatically ends up in your business system - completely according to set formats and standards. Viaduct becomes your external EDI department and helps to establish and operate the solution.
