Sustainable Development
In 2015, the UN member states developed an agenda with 17 global goals. Broadly speaking, it is about achieving four major things by the year 2030 - abolishing extreme poverty, reducing inequalities and injustices in the world, promoting peace and justice, and solving the climate crisis.
Read more about the sustainable development goals Viaduct's sustainability policyOf the 17 goals that the UN has presented, we at Viaduct have selected a few where we can contribute to a better society and a more pleasant environment, both in a local and global perspective.Goal 3 - Good health and well-beingWe make good healthcare available to all employees at Viaduct through good health insurance. Over the years, we have also donated money to cancer research and various organizations that are fighting for a healthier society. At Viaduct, we also have an activity room, wellness allowances, and flex time that simplifies the everyday life of our employees. We also have a work environment manager at the company who can collect feedback on improvements.Goal 4 - Quality educationAll our employees are continuously given the opportunity to develop skills, either under our own direction, or in collaboration with, for example, the municipality and the university. Viaduct has also participated in projects where we have been in elementary schools and introduced programming for school students. Over the years we have also had many projects and collaborations with the university and the Employment Agency.Goal 5 - Gender equalityAt Viaduct, equality between women and men is a matter of course. It is also a prerequisite for sustainable and peaceful development in society. Equality is about a fair distribution of power, influence and resources. Viaduct currently has 50% men and 50% women on the board. The company is also led by a woman in an otherwise relatively male-dominated industry.Goal 8 - Decent work and economic growthOver the years, Viaduct has worked actively with sub-goal 8.6, to promote young people's employment, education and practice. We have had both people in internships and degree projects from colleges and universities. Several of these people also later became employees of the company.Goal 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructureOver the years, Viaduct has worked to simplify technology that was previously only possible for larger companies. Today, even small businesses can communicate with large companies on the same terms only through a standard computer and browser. No advanced costly systems are needed. It allows the technology to be accessible to everyone.Goal 10 - Reduced inequalitiesHere at Viaduct "respect" is an important word. As an employee at Viaduct, you can be either young or old, male or female, immigrant or native Swedish, parent or non-parent. We respect each other regardless and want it to feel both familiarly and personal. We want everyone to be seen and that everyone's efforts are counted.Goal 12 - Responsible consumption and productionSince our business concept is to digitize business documents and streamline communication between customers and suppliers, both we and our customers work with goal 12 every day. With our solutions large amounts of paper invoices can be replaced with digital. This is good for the environment!Goal 17 - Partnerships for the goalsIn today's society, we are more than ever connected to people around the world. UN goal 17 can only be achieved through global cooperation and partnership. Viaduct's solutions are used by organizations and companies around the world. Every day, there are numerous transactions and communication between companies. Thanks to our digital solutions, for example, a supplier can send an invoice to a customer on the other side of the earth within a fraction of a second. The simplicity, safety and low environmental impact mean that bridges are built instead of demolished. Viaduct also works actively in a number of EU projects where we achieve sub-goal 17.6 by collaborating and sharing knowledge about science, technology and innovation. |
